The total population of Kandy district is 1,484,469 (2019 census) with the estimated population for 2019 being 1,502,283. The urban sector of Kandy district comprises of Kandy Municipal Council, Kadugannawa Urban Council, Gampola Urban Council, Nawalapitiya Urban Council and Wattegama Urban Council. Kandy Muncipal Council spreads over 3 divisional secretary’s divisions; namely Kandy Four Gravets & Gangawata Korale, Pathadumbara and Harispattuwa. The population of urban areas is 176,157 and it is 12.2 percent of the total population. And estate population is 98,048

Kandy district has a land area of 1916.2 square kilometers (sq.km). It has a population density of 715 persons per sq.km (2019).The population density of the urban area is 4,083 persons per sq.km.

The total population of Matale district is 528,802 (2019) with the estimated population for 2019 being 524,166. The urban sector of Matale district comprises of Matale Municipal Council. The population of urban area is 39,607 and it is 8.2 percent of the total population.Dambulla Population of urban area is 25,762.Matale district has a land area of 1952.2 square kilometers (sq.km). It has a population density of 247 persons per sq.km.

There are 13 MOH areas. The highest population is reported from MOH area Galewela and it is 75,771. The population of MOH Ambangamuwa koralle is 16,923 is the lowest populated MOH area. 32 primary health care institutions, 2 secondary care institutions & 4 special units in the Matale district in 2019.

The total population of Nuwara Eliya district is 790,735 (2019) with the estimated population for 2019 is being 770,044. The urban sector of Nuwara Eliya district comprises of Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council, Hatton-Dikoya Urban Council and Thalawakele-Lindula Urban Council. Nuwara Eliya Muncipal Council as well as Thalawakele-Lindula Urban Council situated in Nuwara Eliya divisional secretary’s division. Hatton-Dikoya Urban Council is in Ambagamuwa divisional secretary’s division. The population of urban area is 48,615 and it is 6.1 percent of the total population. The population of estate area in Nuwara Eliya district is 437,076 and it is more than half of the district population (53.6 percent)
